RIP Michael Jackson.

On the U2 Dublin ZOO TV show from August 1993, isn't Bono referring to Michael Jackson when he says "You're not so bad" before Bad?

Also, for the ZOO TV Sydney video, during MacPhisto's speech, wasn't he going to say something about Michael Jackson but just cut it short at "Goodbye Michael"?

In the song Miami Bono sings, "If coke is a mystery, Michael Jackson history." It is tragic that someone so talented ended up the way Michael did.

I think the media did him a tragic misservice.

I remember Captain Eo at Disneyland on my one and only trip there. It was magical.

Rest in peace, Michael. You gave us a lot of joy. I hope you've found some now.

In Dublin 1993 right before Bad, Bono said "to Michael Jackson, I don't believe you're bad, guilty before you've been given a chance Michael."

Cheers,

My MJ/U2 memory is circa 1982-83 in college.  2 vinyl records, 1 turntable.  My roommate played Thriller almost every day.  Then I would put on War.  It became sort of a battle between us.    Seems funny now to think about Beat It and Billie Jean followed by Sunday Bloody Sunday and New Years Day. Can't believe that was 27 years ago.

Just read that Thriller was recorded in one month.  Wow.  Seems like a foreign concept to a U2 fan.

Nope. So was Led Zeppelins' first album. I understand the concept.  U2 just takes longer to record. Two different processes.
