Twelve Monkeys is indeed a classic sci-fi piece, plus it was the first movie to convince me Brad Pitt wasn't just eye-candy for the teenage birds.

I saw Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (the 2nd Robert Downey Jr. SH movie) last night and I ended up being pleasantly surprised. It started out quite boring and second rate, but soon built up momentum, and though there was way more shooting than I care for, too much action on a whole, the last act and the final face-off was ace and saved the movie. Also there's tons of well executed jokes, the chemistry is great between the actors, so they pull off the lesser parts nicely as well.

Gone

Went to the movies and I couldn't watch any more of that, so I walked out of the theater.

Great Expectations. (The one from the 90's with Ethan Hawke and Gwyneth Paltrow)

The Final Destination (aka Final Destination 4). Really awful. :D About what I expected. Gratuitous violence and second-rate acting.

Time Bandits. Entertaining enough and it has that mostly enjoyable Monty Python humo(u)r.

Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.

It was okay. I've never really disliked any of the Mission Impossible movies though the most I remember of the 2nd and 3rd films was that I watched them.

I saw Bully today. What an excellent film. I think all teens should see it.

I have heard of this film and would like to see it myself.  As a mom and grandmom, I think it is very important to teach our young to respect all others.

A joke is only funny when it is a gentle jest and every laughs.  Never cruel.

So we finally watched Drive after it sat on the coffee table for a few weeks.  I get people's mixed feelings now.  I thought the whole thing was going to be very deliberately plodding with lots of delayed gratification.  Then people's heads started getting stepped on.  :-\  My husband couldn't stand Ryan Gosling though.  He said it irritated him how the character would just smile stupidly and give monosyllabic responses to everything in the first half of the movie. We just don't know too many people like that in real life...

You are lucky not having to fear for your heads then... :-)

I think the untold premise in Drive is the guy's a psychopath.
