When I go a few days without much sleep I get 'internal tremors' It is awful. It comes and goes. But sometimes I have too much caffeine and that doesn't help. Do you drink coffee close to bed time?

I suffer that too SG. When I go a few days without much sleep I get 'internal tremors' It is awful. It comes and goes. But sometimes I have too much caffeine and that doesn't help. Do you drink coffee close to bed time?I don't consume much caffeine. I think it's because I've always had irregular sleep patterns since I was a teenager and rather than spend hours lying in bed trying to get to sleep which is highly frustrating, I just don't bother going to bed and stay up for the night. Of course by the following afternoon I start getting those insomniac symptoms that Al Pacino experienced in the film Insomniac. By that night I find it difficult to get to sleep and develope internal tremors, which feels like my body is lying on a vibrating bed. I've found sleeping pills help and I enjoy taking them. The problem is they bring about a very deep sleep lasting up to 12 hours and when I wake up I feel groggy.Do you have any suggestions Dr StrongGirl?
10:32 Eastern Time
That's so odd that we're in the same time zone, SG. You're on the East Coast and I'm in the Great Lakes. Opposite ends of the same time zone. The upside to that is that it stays light out until well after 10:00 in the summer.

The very last light we get in the summer is about 9ish. That reminds me of Europe in the summer. They can go till 11 !! One time my friends and I got to Europe and took a nap after the flight. The clock said 5. When we woke up it said 10. The sun was shining and we thought we slept through till the next morning It was 10 that same evening!
