It's not terrible or anything, but it was definitely not up to the heights they'd achieved with other albums.  It's more great lyrically than it is musically.

What I really like about it is its emotion. Roger Waters is just so upset that it's really compelling to me.

So, anyone pick up Is This The Life We Really Want?  I've only listened once, but was really pleasantly surprised.

I need to go back to it to better familiarize myself, but I remember really liking (I think) Picture That, and the last three songs that sort of form a suite.  For as dense as the album is with lyrics, I was happy to hear the music stretch out a bit in places and sound a bit like 70's Pink Floyd again.

My biggest complaint after one listen is the snippet of Trump speaking.  I can't stand listening to him talk as it is, I don't need him to be included in an album I might otherwise like to replay over and over!

His being upset is conveyed better in the Wall, where it is channeled better. I think the Final Cut just comes off to me as winy. "Boo hoo Margret Thatcher sucks," is basically the entire album synopsis.

Hm.  I'll need to listen again.  I didn't hear that.  It sounded much more experimental and weird.
