Cherub Rock is a work of pure genius! It gets me leaping around the room like an idiot! I also really like Ava Adore and Today. Good band.

Here is a great live version of Ava Adore.

I saw them at The Ryman last year in their Plainsong incarnation and it was fantastic. And so was opener and long-time crush Liz Phair.

With the exception of the brilliant Siamese Dream I've never been that keen on a lot of their albums. For me they've always been more of a great singles band than a great albums band, but that's just my opinion. I have their Best Of CD, which I enjoy and I have their Video Best Of collection on DVD too. Ava Adore is one heck of a song. I'll always love Siamese Dream though, especially Cherub Rock! :)

i def think SD-Adore <including Pisces, the soundtrack songs Drown, Eye, and The End is the Beginning is the End> are essential. they were a massive band for that 5 year period, def one of my all time favorite bands.

What do you all think?

Will there be an original band line-up to follow in 2018?

there was some discussion about it in the music 2017 thread. i love it, it's the best song he's done in a while and i'm a big fan of Oceania. i love that Rick Rubin is producing the whole album.

he said there will be a new non-SP band he's starting, this solo album and the rumors swirl about Iha and D'arcy returning.

I love it as well.  Rick Rubin will bring a nice organic feel to the album.

I follow SP about as much as U2 and look forward to the possible reunion or new non-SP band and whatever else comes from WPC.

I bike to work and I have been going through SP back catalog on my ride over the last couple weeks.  OMG I forgot how amazing Siamese Dream was.  This band had like 3 amazing albums in a row; I loved MC+IS when it came out but kinda lost track of them around 1997 or so.  I have to check out Adore...I didn't get enough exposure to it when it was released.

IHA plays on this effort which is encouraging. I am going to see Billy on Friday. I haven't picked up the album yet.
