I think a bunch of the people who claim Pop is the best album only do so because they like being "original".

Here's my confession: I think that people who judge others' motives only do it because deep down they are still pining for their father's acceptance, and also because they feel inferior because they were never good at sports. Oh, and also because they like to cross-dress when the moon is full.

On second thought, scratch that: Judging motives is fun.

Very interesting, this thread.  Let's see.  Some of mine are "original sins" and others are up on the board already.

- I don't own October and I've only listened to it once or twice
- I'm sometimes embarrassed by Bono's behavior (not onstage, not while I'm there, but in retrospect, or when he's not onstage sometimes)
- I don't really care about Adam
- I hated Larry's greasy Vertigo hair
- I've only listened to Passengers once and the only Passengers song I own is Miss Sarajevo
- Although I've loved this band since about 1986 I didn't see them live until 2005

Wow....... Your penance is to listen to October 20 times in the next seven days, and to join one of the Adam appreciation threads! Remember - although Larry put up the notice to form the band, Adam was the original manager. U2 would not be where they are without him.

I illegally downloaded 40-50 U2 songs before I bought my first album.

Part of the reason I dislike October is because I'm uncomfortable about so many religious references.

I'm a U2 snob. I don't think that people who cannot name all albums in chronological order should be allowed to attend U2 concerts.

I second that opinion. Let's start standing at the doors of the shows & quizzing everyone walking in.

also -  I DESPISE the fact that Edge wears one of those f£$%^& stupid Madonna microphones on the 360 tour. He instantly loses all 100% of his cool. I know its so he can move around and stuff BUT ITS NOT WORTH IT MAN!

apart from that Im clean. I swear.

P.S maybe, just maybe the people who enjoy POP might just enjoy it because its really good and lyrically up there with their best work? You could say that anyone that doesn't name JT or AB as their favorite is doing so to be original - have a conversation with a POP lover and you'll soon see that the love and understanding of it goes way beyond posturing.

I have one U2 poster and is hanging in my closet. But on the up side, Adam helps me pick out my clothes in the morning (because he obviously has the best fashion sense in the band).
