The first time I heard AIWIY I thought it was really long-winded... now I think it has one of my favorite guitar solos ever!

Here's a new thought... I'm very shocked at how many "deleted scenes" from the R&H film there are on YouTube! And all I had to do to find them was search "u2 rattle and hum."

The *very* best Larryism from this movie is, "If I had a head like yours, I'd bleedin' bury it."

Buying the movie from iTunes was a smart move.  My computer and iPod screens are much clearer than our 1983 tv set.  :)  And favorite performances?  Well, Bad is in this movie, so what else need I type?

I was listening to R&H just today... anyone else REALLY like Hawkmoon 269? I don't know what it is about that song, but I love it so much...

My album favorite is ISHFWILF sung with the New Voices of Freedom. Brilliant. And I sing it at the top of my lungs every time I play it  :D

My movie favorite is Bad/Stones Medley running into that AWESOME Streets intro!!! I still get goosebumps every time even after 22 years.

Hey EC, yeah, Hawkmoon is a great one... in a sense (off the top of my head), I feel like it is a good precursor to AB album b/c one finds some similar themes-- night, darkness, confusion, pain, longing, knowing you're messed up:
Like coming home and you don't know where you've been.... When the night has no end, and the day yet to begin, As the room spins around, I need your love.

The opening lines set it off-- let you know where they're at right off the bat-- "Like a desert needs rain/ like a town needs a name/ I need your love....   And like so many U2 songs, it could be speaking on a human level--needing to be needed,  a friend, a lover or it could be speaking on a spiritual level.

"Good stuff Maynard!"   ;D

I was watching the movie the other day - if you can get the money I think there are some great moments - With or Without You, Exit etc.

As for the album - God Part II was a sign of the Achtung baby to come - a fantastic song!
