Bono is definitely a mason.

Didn't you see his bandana during the Vertigo tour?

So, by this standard is Bono also a practicing Moslem and Christian and peace lover (or whomever is signified by the peace symbol)?

I don't understand this discussion.... ???    (Seems like people are taking symbols and actions out of their context which is always a very dangerous thing to do b/c life is lived in time/ place (culture) context.)

Bono practises all religions.

I pray that if I do go to heaven (whether it exists or not), I dont want Bono at the gates wishing me in by singing Street Mission.

Relax, we're all intelligent and mature enough. I love this kind of threads where it quickly turns into satire.

On a side note, I heard that David Bowie is a freemason.

When does he have time to do anything else?  That's a lot of practicing.

Thanks for the clarification... sorry I missed the point.  I think my satire/ sarcasm is a bit on the rusty side.  ;)

I've known several Masons. Is that the same thing? They weren't really hiding their Mason-ry. Lots of people knew they were Masons.

Same with my grand father.  He was a Mason.  He died several years before I was born, but it was no secret.  Everyone knew.  My grand mother was a member of the Eastern Star and was Methodist by religion.  No, satanic worship, symbols, what so ever, in our house.  We went to the Methodist Church, every Sunday.

as are several members of my family. It wouldnt be a huge issue for a rich Protestant man like Bono to be in them.

I don't see how Bono would have time to  be a Mason. Are there regular meetings or something? When would he do that?

He should use whatever time he has left to PRACTICE his lyrics.

With all the recent publicity about Freemasonry, I wonder whether the Freemason chiefs think that Freemasonry is becoming the McDonalds of the secret society industry.

The Freemasons must get a heck alot of teasing and heckling from the dudes and dudettes at the Illuminati, Templars, The Bilderberg Group, Rosicrucians and Skulls & Bones.

No, women cannot be Freemasons. But I think there is an affliated women's group?
