There's a movie from around 1993 which stars Tommy Lee Jones.
I can't remember the title of it but he plays an Irish bomber who's been in prison
in the US. When he gets out he discovers the Joshua Tree which he missed out on when he was
incarcerated.

It could be Blown Away from 1994.

I still have to watch that film. I have it on VHS.

Not sure if this is listed but Beautiful Day was played on an episode of Brothers and Sisters. Bono was just mentioned on Grey's Anatomy 2 weeks ago or so. The President was being operated on and there was a lot of guards outside the OR. I forget her name but one of the doctors said..."Who is it, Bono?"   :D

In the Irish TV series Ballykissangel series 1, episode 3, a band plays at a character's wedding and they call themselves "U3" and their van says "Irish hit factory, one up on theirs." I'm pretty sure it is a joke aimed at U2. I thought it was pretty funny.
AHHHH! What episode was that?

It is the one where Ambrose decides to become a priest but Niamh holds the wedding reception anyway and the band plays at the reception. They never mention the name of the band; they just show the van outside Fitzgerald's with the writing on it. It is from series (season)1, episode 3 and called "Live in my heart and pay no rent."
Oh, now I remember the episode...
I'm surprised to have found someone who's heard of it :D

I love Ballykissangel. I found it and watched it through netflix. It was really fun.

my mom is obsessed with Ballykissangel. She tried to get me into it once, but it didn't take. But in my defense, I was pretty young at the time, hehe
Ha! That's how I gor into it! :D

I laughed so hard when they said that!

On 30 Rock last week the character Teacy Jordan is having a meltdown because he is too "respectable" and to prove his point he says that Bono jumped into his cab ( and then a Bono impersonator jumps into his cab).

There is a poster of U2 (I think it is the cover of Joshua Tree) in Scream 4.

In 'Four Weddings and A Funeral,' Hugh Grant's character and his crazy ex-girlfriend (later fiancée - but briefly) have a dialogue exchange where they say something to the effect of:

Henrietta: "You made fun of me because I thought U2 was a submarine!"

Charlie: "Well I can see how their music has a sort of nautical quality to it."

Lawl.

In " Grandma's Boy " a guy calls another guy jokingly "Bono's Brother" cause that other guy had a tight leather jacket, i think.

Gonna totally date myself here.  Some of you may remember the comedy "WKRP in Cincinnati".  In the sound booth, or whatever the room that the DJ sits in is called, there were always band posters on all the walls.  One of them was the cover of "Boy", the American version.

In the most recent Parks and Rectearoom, Amy Poehler was rambling about something and one thing she said was "I'm wide awake!!"

On a rerun of How I Met Your Mother (I don't know which episode), someone said that "Ambition is the enemy of success"... probably unintentional, but still.

My family stopped the DVR to show me that, in last night's HAWAII FIVE-O, there was a poster on the wall promoting the Under A Blood Red Sky remaster that came out a couple years ago.

In a 30 Rock episode, Tracy Jordan says "I think Bono is in my limo right now".
In SNL, during a SpiderMan "Turn off the dark" sketch, Andy Samberg played Bono.
In The Simpsons Movie, the kid Lisa likes says:
- I'm Irish. My dad is a musician.
Lisa: -Is he..?
- No, he's not Bono.
There's also the "U2 Moving Crew" in the episode when they go to Dublin. Never noticed the motto until now, though :P

I am wondering if anyone has A) seen Entropy and B)if it's worth trying to hunt down to watch. Also, Still Haven't Found plays at the intro of Runaway Bride, one of my movie guilty pleasures.
