Two great songs for famine relief in Africa, and two cool star-studded videos; which song do you like the best?

I like Band Aid the most and it's probably my third favourite Christmas song ever.  I remember buying the single at Christmas '84 like it was yesterday.   But watching the videos, I can't help but be impressed by the vocal performances in We Are The World, so I like that video better.  Bruce Springsteen's and Cyndi Lauper's facial expressions crack me up. ;D  The downside is it doesn't have a "well tonight thank God it's them instead of you" moment.

Personally, I thought 'We Are the World' with the exception of Springsteen's vocal add was horrific.  The lyrics were unimaginative and repetitive.  And while, 'Feed the world ...' does it a heavy dosing in DTKICT, at least there's a more sophisticated song structure than the one demonstrated by WATW.

Sorry, I just really hate the song.  :D

Mmmm... let me see...

Quincy Jones, Ray Charles, and Bob Dylan.
                           vs.
Boy George, Simon Le Bon and George Michael.

Er, hum... think I'll go with "We Are The World"...  ;) :D

Hands down - Band Aid's Do They Know It's Christmas. In my opinion it is by far a better song. The artists are better too. It was also the pioneer for all of these types of records. It led the way. I applaud USA for Africa for joining in the effort to help those in need, but the song is much weaker (at least to me).

The truth is their both awful. Band Aid sounded like some third rate England World Cup song

and USA for Africa was just vomit-inducing.

Or you could look at it like:

Cyndi Lauper, Kenny Loggins, Steve Perry
vs.
Bono, Sting, Phil Collins

Think I WON'T go with "we are the world"

Band Aid.

We Are The World is up there with Smells Like Teen Spirit and Oops I Did It Again for the worst hit song of all time.  :P

Considering pretty much most of the WATW crew I chose otherwise.
