Concert Ticket Prices?
« on: January 30, 2009, 08:53:40 PM »
I plan on attending a show in New York when they come here in the fall.  To all you people who have attended other tours, how much would I have to shell out for a GA ticket if i sit in front of a ticketmaster for 2 days?

GA tickets were only around $50 last tour. They were cheaper than the lower level and club level seats, but the same price as the upper level if I remember correctly.

But arent the GA tickets the closest to the stage.  If not, what tickets are and how much will they go for

GA was the closest and the cheapest last tour.

Hartford, Boston and NYC might be the best places for you to take in a show. Budget for $75 this tour in case the price goes up quite a bit for GA.

If they do stadium only shows, will there be GA?

In my opinion, U2 has consistently offered a good value in their concerts - a great show and $40-50 seats (and GA) the last 2 tours.  Given the economy and the fact that they want to sell out a bunch of shows but still make money doing so, I would say they might err on a lower ticket price, or at least a lot of affordable seats in the $50-75 range.

GA were $50 last time, but most tickets in an arena aren't GA, meaning the majority of forward facing seats (i.e, almost everything in froint of the stage) were about $150 (even those at the back/top of the arena) and the sideways ones at the side of the stage were around $90 (my favorite ones actually, they got you closer and there was rarely any obstruction), the seats at the rear were in all 3 price ranges.

If they do indoor arenas again i'm guessing McGuine$$ will want to compete with Paul McCartney and Madonna so top tix will be over $250.

General Admission floor tickets were around $50 the last couple tours...

Most 'lower level' tickets, were around $160 each.

I've done GA Floor before, and I've done reserved seats.

Despite the much higher price, on the next tour, I will take reserved seats again.   I would rather pay extra for a guaranteed great spot in the lower level, than possibly be all the way in the back on the floor.    If you want a good spot on the floor, be prepared to wait in line for hours, and hours, and by the time the show starts, your feet are in so much pain, you can barely stand up.

On the Elevation tour, I did GA floor.  I waited in line all day long, and made it inside the 'heart'.  The show was simply amazing from up front.  But man, it took a real physical toll on me by the time of the show.

I know the Vertigo tour had a 'lottery', to get inside the 'ellipse'.  But still, there's no guarantee.

So again, reserved seats for me!
