  • In the bath I was playing the tart....
I usually jam out when I'm doing yardwork etc. So God knows what kind of dribble I'm spewing when I'm playing Lawnmower Karaoke.

Rotfl, I'm the same way.  If I'm left to myself doing housework or barn chores or especially driving, there's plenty of times when it sounds like EC's typing out the music thread,  :D.

Numb ;D
And the chants in Unknown Caller
And quite a few songs on HTDAAB
And prety much everything on TUF besides Bad, Pride, MLK, and The Unforgettable Fire... ESPECIALLY Wire and Indian Summer Sky. And I can never remember all the words to A Sort of Homecoming, though I listen to it a lot.

I'm a horrible fan, because my answer to the question in the thread title is "Yes, pretty much all of them". I'm horrible with lyrics. I sing along, but, I know I do it incorrectly. EVEN when I look up the lyrics to see what the actual lyrics are, I get it wrong. You can correct me, and I'll still get 'em wrong.

I can usually pick a lyric out, and I'll know it's from a U2 song, but I'll probably not be able to tell you which one, unless it's one that has stuck itself in my head in a loop. And that happens more often than me knowing any full song.  I found myself liking the "let me in the sound" bit from Boots, but not realizing it was the same song as the gasoline/submarine thing. Right now, I've got bits from Xanax & Wine looping in my head, but I couldn't really tell you the lyrics, and it's an incomplete bit--with lockets and pockets and I don't know. I just get everything wrong. Or mostly everything wrong.

Though, I do typically know more lyrics than I think I do. So, that's something. Well, not really.

(About the only things I do know all the words to are books I read to my sons nightly for years. So, if you ever need to know all of Goodnight Moon, I'm your girl. Knowing the lyrics to my favorite songs? I can usually get almost ...most of them....)

(There's the part where I can't remember lyrics, and then there's the part where I hear the wrong lyrics. but that's a different thread, isn't it?)

I thought this one was also correct, but the lyrics say otherwise... even though that's obviously not what I hear...

I just realized I don;t know all the words either :D

  • New album? Two words: MORE LARRY!!!
I thought it was sheet stain too. Wonder what the "sweet stain" is though?

(And the lyrics on my vinyl are completely wrong, they say "blindman's cane" yeah bollocks to that!)

^You know that a surprisingly large amount of U2 lyrics are wrong in the booklets, at least on certain albums... Zooropa especially.

Yeah, I've noticed that. You have to wonder how exactly they get them so wrong, I know they tinker with the music down to the wire but you'd hardly think they'd send off the lyrics to be printed before the album is pressed.  ::) ;D

It's silly- but some of the wrong Zooropa lyrics I noticed were actually sung live... usually it's little things like "You're bound to hit someone guilty" instead of just "You'll hit someone guilty" in Dirty Day.

  • Free me from this dark dream
In 'Mysterious Ways' for years I thought he was singing "One day you will look like a museum" instead of "....look back and you'll see"...when I realised what he was singing I thought "but that doesnt sound right"!!
