Maybe...but INXS made more $$$ than any other band that sold the same amount of albums. They never signed a recording contract - right from the beginning, they financed their own records - the first with a bank loan (one of their early fans was a secretary to a bank vice-president), and subsequent albums through record sales and tour receipts. All their deals with record companies were licensing-and-distribution contracts, which are typically 70-30 splits...and INXS would've been getting the 70.
So maybe not.
