If you do, what cover do you want to see them play?

No.  I'm going to a U2 concert to hear a set of U2 songs.  If I wanted to hear other people's songs, then I would go to their concerts.

I'm ok with snippets, not whole covers though.

I voted no, but personally I'd rather hear a full cover than a snippet... I think they're silly

Why are they silly?

I don't know, I just think it's a little weird (and momentum killing) to throw in 30 second parts of random songs. Some of them are ok, but if I had a choice I think I'd say no snippets

I thought Satellite of Love was a very effective cover in the middle part of the Zoo TV show.

The Cult

SHE SELLS SANCTUARY

Imagine Edge on his explorer playing THE guitar riff. It is the best song U2 never wrote.

I was just going to say Satellite of Love.  I think it helped, though, that they recorded it and released it as a B-side.  Speaking of which, I really love their version of Fortunate Son and would love to hear them play it live.

And this is pretty awesome too: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

ok, ok, 40 snippet at the end is perfectly acceptable, and I would in fact encourage it. I also kind of like the "man in the mirror" one at the beginning of the tour, but once again, I would chose not to have them

I'd like to. Edges karaoke on Popmart was a good start  :D

There are many songs I think would do really great, so I'd rather go for a complete cover album and present it live a few times, not a big tour though.

But well, why not a whole Stand by me ie.? I'd like that. But yeah, U2 concerts are for U2 fans. So, not more than one song a show.

Snippets are okay for me. Could live without them, but some are really nice. I should go to a U2 concert in pouring rain. Wanna hear Singing in the rain  :D

I voted no. But I did like Satelite of Love in the middle of ZooTV. Maybe it'd be okay if it was one. But I generally go to U2 to hear U2, which is what they do best. I LOVE snippets, though, I think they are awesome. To me, it's like footnoting your work or something... I cant explain it, but I think it turns their songs into an art form... Adding snippets to some of the songs have given them a harder punch. For example, I absolutely LOVE Leonard Cohen's anthem snippeted in UTEOTW.

There is a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in

^Most profound words I've ever heard. And they really fit into the mood of UTEOTW.
