Arts and Crafts corner

With the poetry corner such a popular place, I though I'd expand on the creative pursuits with the visual arts.  Feel free to post ideas, frustrations, works in progress.  U2 themes are not required, though they will certainly be appreciated.  Paintings, drawings, mittens and dog tags are all welcome!

I'll start with one of my pastels, if I can figure out how to post it!

We have a U2-crafts thread somewhere. I know because I started it, but I forogt to tend to it...

This is not U2 related (well, maybe there is some connection).

Very nice, everyone.  We have lots of talented people here!  Starfish, necklaces count.  Sorry eurydice, had I seen the thread I would have posted there instead of starting a new one.

How about someplace bright and sunny to give a break from the snow?  A Greek island, perhaps?

Here is my 1st ( and only one so far in a series) of images inspired by the lyrics of U2, I used it for my Christmas card this year with the lyric "through the sleet and driving snow, across the field of mourning to a light that's in the distance"

I love your card - that imagery is perfect for that that song - you should definitely do more!

Euryrice, are your witches part of a project?  I'd love to see more.  I've tried doing more symbolic, abstracted art, but it never works out right.  I have great admiration for people who can.  I think I'm too literal minded, which is why I stick with landscapes and still lifes. 

Starfish,  since you said you do beadwork necklaces, I thought I'd share this one with you.  My mother-in-law gave it too me, it was her grandmother's, so I think it dates to the 20s.  It needs cleaning and repair, but I look forward to someday passing it on to my daughter.
