I saw PJ Harvey support our very own u2 on the Zoo Tv tour a few times

How was it?
Umh......being honest....i cant really recall much about her performance as i wasnt really a fan of hers......certainly at that time. In fact...i want much of a fan of anyone other than u2 at that stage of my life. Apart from u2....i was more into hearing The Stereo MCs than PJ. I do recall her set on Glasgow #1 being haunted by technical gremlins

I was blown away by PJ Harvey's live performance the first time I saw her opening for U2 on the Elevation Tour in 2001. I saw that tour 5 times, which means I got to see PJ Harvey open for them 5 times as well. I became a fan and purchased all the albums. I saw her on her own tours that year and in years since.

Here is a great live performance of Dress: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Its shocking, but PJ Harvey is actually one of the richest people on the planet. Although she is a less well known artist in terms of mass popularity, the little money she has made from music she has invested very well and is now reportedly worth $275 million dollars which is more than most individuals in the music business and maybe even more than Bono.

She lost me with her 3rd album...well, with both the album and the live show I saw her do on that tour. Hugely disappointing; Tricky (who's not exactly the greatest live performer himself) blew her off the stage.

I had never even heard of PJ Harvey until I saw her open for U2 in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania on the Elevation Tour. It was amazing to become hooked on an artist after just one live performance.

Was going to start a new thread but found this old one after doing a search...

The magnificent PJ Harvey is on tour in North America and seems to be in fine form (of course!)

If you get chance go and see this remarkable artist.

I agree.  I saw her last summer in Europe and am tempted to see her again as she tours rarely (generally only when she puts on a new album), most especially the U.S.

I rented the  'Stories from the City, Stories from the Se'a album from the British Council Library where I stay.  I didn't realize then how much I would come to like it.  Love the abrasive guitars, and overall sound of the record.

I thought the last time I saw PJ Harvey was in a club before her debut album was released, but now I recall she was support at a Zooropa show I went to.  She also supported on the Elevation Tour but not the night I went.  However, my cousin who works in the music industry was there the PJ Harvey night.  I recall with some bitterness that she had promised to bring me along with her if she was going: "il capo, if I go to a show you will be with me".  So it was with consternation I heard from her the next day that she'd been and how brilliant it had been.  She explained she had not taken me as she only found out she was going a couple of hours before the show.  I wanted to say "I live less than an hour from the venue", but had to button my lip.  Alas PJ Harvey was touring the amazing Stories from the City/Sea album, and it was said to be the best night of the Elevation tour in London too.
