Whenever I think of Last Night On Earth, my mind just goes back to the first time I saw the Popmart DVD. When I finally managed to find the DVD in London I was a huge fan and had the albums but hadn't seen many live videos at all. So I got home, house to myself and volume full blast. Instantly I was amazed (THAT Mofo entrance). It got to Last Night On Earth and I found out that they obviously re-arranged it a bit for the tour, watched it and it looked and sounded fantastic but the last thing I was expecting was this chaotic riff and ridiculous burst of colour to simultaneously happen. I was literally sitting there with my brain melting in amazement. I must have rewound 10 times just to get used to how epic it was. Then when I saw that Until The End Of The World followed it I officially died.

(goes to watch the popmart dvd)

My favorite version is here, click on the First night in Hell (Zahn Mix), it's got a killer extended intro with the cartoon vocals from the live version.

Plus, you can hear every single remix ever released on this site, too.

Crikey that remix of Zoo Station (Ghp remix) is amazing!
Thanks for finding this site Exile! 8)
Exile - I've looked but can't find that Zoo Station (Ghp remix) - do you know where I can find it? Cheers! 8)

Album version, and it's one of my favourites from the album (along with Do You Feel Loved and Gone).

I much prefer the single version. Bono's vocals are much stronger and the guitars are more prominent. My all time favorite though is the live version.

That being said, does anyone know where I can get the single version? I've checked iTunes and Amazon.mp3, but I can't find it...

Its an awkward one for me this, have great associations and memories and its on Pop.... But something doesnt sit right with it for me.  I file it under the 'better live' category

Both the album and single versions fall short of the song's potential for me, but the album version is slightly better. The real LNOE, to me, is the live version . . .

ALL the "real" versions of Pop songs are the live versions. My playlist reflects this as i got the LNOE Zahn remix, Please single version, and i had a fan made Pop Muzik intro then straight into Mofo as the openers to the playlist

1 Live
2 Single
3 Album

It's the only Pop single mix that I prefer over the album.

My vote is for the PopMart live version followed by the single version then the album version. Seriously one of my top 10 U2 tracks. Please is up there too.
