Trust me, Hunger Games is actually an incredibly awesome idea and story. The whole Team Peeta/Gale thing wasn't the author's intentions at all. And the movie looks like it won't dwell on that as much as the epic post-apocalyptic fighting to the death.  ;)

I hope they pull it off, and it's more Harry Potter/Lord of the Rings rather than Eragon. If they tone down the blood, I'll have a fit.

Indeed!  Although Collins (the author) was brought in as a co-screenwriter I believe, so here's hoping for fidelity to the series.  I'm so glad I read the books first so I could do my own imagining of the characters.  Won't be sure 'til Friday if this casting works for me.
