"We're a band from the northside of Dublin"
Dublin, the captial of the Republic of Ireland, is located on the eastern coast of the island of Ireland, the most westerly Country of Europe. Divided by the river Liffey, the city is traditionally divided into the "northside" and "southside" with continuous jokes between the two. Although the band met in a school on the north side of the ciity, with all four members of the band having been living on that side of the city at the time, both the Edge and Adam were born in the U.K., and Bono spent the first few weeks of his life in the leafy southside suburbs of Stillorgan on a street called Dale Road.
