Missing Posts & Bemusing Forum Problem...

I've noticed that sometimes when I post something, or other people post, the next day the posts might not be there. At first I thought it was because they were deleted from accidental content, but I've seen perfectly harmless posts disappear for no fathomable reason. And I can't just say that a lot of people are deciding to delete their posts, because it's happened a couple of times to me and I surely didn't delete them.
Is this the forum consuming its posts or are moderators deleting them because of some kind of rule-breaking that wasn't apparent? I don't really get it...

The bemusing problem is a few posts below.

We're not deleting posts (as far as I know), nor is the forum consuming posts.

Every post has a link/URL. Do you happen to have a link to any that have gone missing?

But someone just helped me out, and I think the problem's solved.

It sounds like we might be talking about the consolidation of two or more threads dealing with the same topic. I know we've done that lately for discussion about Bono's daughter Eve at Cannes.

^The above I wasn't too confused over. I was thinking about the first two posts in this thread I started: http://forum.atu2.com/index.php/topic,16551.0.html But I guess they deleted it themselves.

(Anyway, sorry for taking up time but I have another problem, kinda similar: when I click on new replies it sends me back to the replies from yesterday, and I can't see what I posted yesterday. Also if I go to different pages, I will see the number on my inbox change from 5, which it should be, to 6 or even 8. And I once saw my old avi instead of the one I'm using. So... this one is a REAL problem. ??? )
