Ugh. There's only one person who I detest more than Radiohead... Jack White.
Give Jack White a chance. There is a song from him for literally every person
Ha. But his voices makes me want to bang my head against the wall. He sounds so whiny.

I also hate his voice and think he's extremely overrated as a musician as well.

I'd liken his voice more to that of a sick cat in pain though.

I think *I* sing better than him. And that's saying a lot.

What songs of his do you listen to. He sings according to who he's playing for. In under great white northern lights (white stripes movie) he uses his more "whiny" voice when he is playing for a bunch of head banging teenagers and his nice voice when he plays to elderly Alaskan natives.
At least give songs like Hotel Yorba or We Are Going to be Friends a listen

Seven Nation Army, The Hardest Button To Button, Steady As She Goes, and Love Is Blindness are the only songs of his I'm familiar with. I think he sounds terrible in all.

I've been hearing tracks off his new album on satellite radio. I usually end up shouting, "EEEK!" and flipping the station. I have tried to listen to them all the way through, but usually by the middle of the song I'm so annoyed, I cant take it.

All of songs songs sound to me like this one song he did in White Stripes that I cant remember the name of.

Also, I was really put off on him after hearing him in an interview once on NPR. He sounded really pretentious and it was highly annoying.

I dont think MX sucks.

Yeah, I cant think of the name of that White Stripes song cuz I have absolutely no idea what the words are. I just know how the tune goes and I could imitate it when describing it to someone in person, but it's kind of hard to write that imitation. ;) I'm trying to remember what the name of that song is. Maybe I should go peruse the titles of some early White Stripes albums.

Icky Thump is not a great Stripes song to start out with if you want to get into them. I suggest you listen to the Raconteurs because Jack only sings half the songs, the other singer is Brendan Benson who is actually a really great singer and he doesn't sound whiny at all.

I have heard the Raconteurs and liked them. Though I cant think of a specific song. Satellite radio, again. ;)

Ok this is not a thread about Jack White' whiny voice, it's about Coldplay and I think that they deserve to win the grammy this year. Their album is clearly superior.

I was just thinking the same. Ooops!

I am choosing Madness over Charlie Brown (now if they had chosen Major Minus...) and 2nd Law and MX, but would give MX the edge.

Yeah, this thread is about Chris Martin's whiny voice! ;)

Anyways, I say give Bruce Springsteen the Grammys that he is nominated for (in which he competes with Coldplay). Wrecking Ball is fantastic. But that's just me.
