why complain

U.F.O. is meh. ok

I never liked Rhianna.

Below par music and only in the spotlight for her personal life. She has some singing talent, but the overabundance of autotune and typical production makes it a meh in my book.

Rhianna is the Maroon 5 of pop music. She's not a talentless hack (Katy Perry), or a secret genius (Gaga), or both (Ke$ha). She's just...there. I will admit to liking a few of her songs though, namely We Found Love, Disturbia, and Only Girl In the World.
Not much beyond that though.

sooo.....Kesha is both a talentless hack AND secret genius? how so? mind you i've never heard her songs i just know the name.

Once again, I'm in the minority.  I love Rihanna on Princess of China.  I love Princess of China.

I missed it a few pages ago, but here's my up-to-the-moment Mylo rankings.

1.  Mylo Xyloto / Hurts Like Heaven
2.  Paradise
3.  Charlie Brown
4.  M.M.I.X. / Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall
5.  Us Against The World
6.  Up With The Birds
7.  Up In Flames
7.  A Hopeful Transmission / Don't Let It Break Your Heart
8.  Princess Of China
9.  Major Minus
10. U.F.O.

-MX / HLH is my set in stone #1
-Charlie Brown and Paradise are interchangeable
-Up In Flames and AHT / DLIBYH are interchangeable
-I still ADORE the bottom three, but the top songs are just too incredible to be ranked lower

One of my favorite albums ever, regardless of artist

For those that bought the new Concert DVD of MX, do you agree w/ some of the reviews on Amazon that the film quality is poor? I find that so odd since it was such a visual concert, thus, the desire to put it on film.

Thanks! I was thinking of getting this for myself for Christmas.  ;)

They shot it on film? Interesting. 35 mm I assume? I heard the audio wasn't as good as it is on the CD but I heard it's visually stunning. It sounds like the reviews are from morons who hate film grain. I can understand the complaints about the fast editing (which most concert videos today do, with shots changing every 2 seconds. It is rather annoying.) but the film grain is there because of how it was shot (on film). If it was shot digitally (which would seem a little more boring with the interview footage I would imagine) there would still be grain (in the form of digital noise) thanks to the dark settings.

Some Film 101 for you guys. Rant over. ;)

Because she has no talent, but unlike a Katy Perry, she doesn't try to hide that and ironically plays it up. Not to mention she has made some of the catchiest songs of the past 25 years, hands down.

Btw AP, I thought Maroon 5 was the Maroon 5 of pop music.
