Why wouldn't they remaster it? And if they didn't will we ever get a remastered AB? What for the 30th anniversary? 2021?

What are they remastering? The thing is slick as it is. It's almost too crisp as it is now.

Just turn the volume up to 11 and it will be perfect.

I always have to turn up the volume to hear the first 20 seconds of Zoo Station. I was hoping a remaster would make it sound like new. Guess not.

Now THAT you shouldn't have to worry about, if that's your thing.  It almost certainly will be louder.

If it were remastered, this would be a huge selling point. U2's adverting group would know better than to leave this out. So they are focusing your attention on so many other things in hopes that the casual fan would overlook that it isn't remastered.

I agree with a lot of people that it doesn't really need to be anyway.

And i'll probably wait and see what they do on iTunes. Hopefully I can pick and choose the rarities I don't have and what remixes sound worthwhile.

This is my first post on here. I linger a lot. Been a fan forever, and I think this offering is total sh**. The only thing exciting about this set are a few unreleased demos/demo version of AB. The rest is window dressing. Reissue ZTV Sydney? Really? The videos? Pick up Best of 1990-2000 used for 5 bucks somewhere. Pathetic. Its true fans that would buy the deluxe issues, so why give them something they already have 90% of? You mean to tell me that of the entire ZooTV Tour, which was all on tape, which I have 4 pro-shot shows,  they only could regurgitate Sydney? LAZY.

I haven't been this disappointed in this band in a long time. So what I am gonna do is cherry pick the music I want when a full Torrent is available, prob before the official release. Oh and the documentary? Ill download that too. Perhaps I will make a $5 donation to the African Well Fund or something.

Dont get me wrong, the set LOOKS amazing...but content wise..it is TERRIBLE.

My 2 cents.
Shawn

The set is insanely expensive! I don't want to be negative here, but from the looks of it a lot of things are missing.
Why have the already released Sidney show and not the ZooTv MTV thanksgiving show that wasn't officially released? The one that has Allen Ginsberg leading into Streets.
There was actually a lot of MTV interviews and specials that have never had official releases.
There's 4 CDS of Salome out there. I figured there would be more songs like Backmask, Sunset in Colours etc...

$600 for repackaging seems a bit steep for me.

"$600 for repackaging" is an overstatement. There's plenty of new, original musical content here.

But yeah, the price is pretty steep regardless.

Plenty? 2 CDs with remixes, where 1.) the most of already exist 2.) repeats on it 3.) many people don't really care for them. And the 4th release of the same concert. (VHS, 2 DVD versions, the u2.com 2cd) A CD with bsides and "rarities" of which even I know the most, and I never really cared for the things aside in that era.

Very innovative. And Fly shades you can get on every third corner for a 20 bucks. I can't see what Edge stated "there are so many alternative versions with different lyrics and arrangements" - again, promised and failed. Unfortunately, that thing will sell, McG will be right, the money rolls in and the next reissue/remaster will get the same....

64€ on universal store. btw they ship the uber box fpr 19€ to continental EU, so to ROTW it will be more than that I guess. (That box must be heavy!)

I just want The Fly shades so I look more authentic when I do the ZooTV/Zoo Station high-kick in my living room.
