I'm not coming down in Gone and Levitate. Seems like the latter used some lyrics from other previous songs :P

Bono is a superior lyricist (a modern-day equivalent of a great poet), but sometimes a line or two of the lyrics in different songs are same/similar. I think it reflects the themes and ideas of his thoughts, because this is the kinds of phrases he uses during interviews as well.

Miracle Drug:
"The songs are in your eyes,
I see them when you smile"

Breathe:
"The songs are in our eyes
Gonna wear them like a crown"

---

Fast Cars:
"Want a lot of what you got
What you got can make this stop"

Original of the Species:
"I want the lot of what you got
And I want nothing that you're not

Any other examples?

I've also noticed the lyric "the song in [someone's] head"--found in Discotheque and No Line On The Horizon. Bono and Edge are also constantly using this line in interviews when talking about their creative process--they always say something like "I'm trying to get the song in my head out there in the world."

One:
lepers in your head

Disappearing Act:
lepers you let in your head

Do you think Bono reads the Bible like a fervent Christian? Lepers seems like a very biblical word. Interesting how his lyrics are full of biblical references, yet he never quotes the Bible when he speaks in interviews  ;)

Considering they used to have bible sessions, yeah probably. Though maybe not so much these days.
