Mind you, that's not a problem with it, just that so many other songs on Magic are so good- Devil's Arcade, Long Walk Home, Last To Die, Magic...

Don't forget Gypsy Biker. That whole album is just perfection.

Oh yeah. His best since at least Tunnel of Love, and worthy of mention in the same breath as Tunnel, BITUSA etc if not quite the BTR/Darkness holy grail of perfection for me.

While I think The Rising is his best, and I find Magic to be a great record, I don't think it can top or be near to his Born to Run/Darkness on The Edge of Town era. All of it was just brilliant at the time. The entire band was on the top of its game at that point. Roy Brittan and Clarence I think hit peak on Born to Run, not to mention everybody else.

Yeah, the 90's was a pretty mediocre decade for Springsteen.

I don't think anyone would disagree, although there are a few diamonds in the rough - the title tracks of all three albums, American Skin, Land of Hope and Dreams, Streets of Philadelphia...

Very interesting article. Sheds some light on the song, in particular the chorus some have expressed concern about.  We may, in fact, have another "Born In The USA" situation on our hands. For the record, I love the song.

It's an ok song, not in the same league as Radio Nowhere, and it offers nothing new, musically.

Although U.S tour dates haven't been announced yet, if they play arenas in the States and stadiums in Europe, it will be clear that they take care of their own.

My favorite is The Rising. Every track was gold, and I'd be shocked if I ever liked another Bruce album more than it.
Mine favorite too Mid  8)

song is really good. listened to it atleast a dozen times today. the clapping isn't too back anymore but the chorus is still not that great

I WANT SOME DATES NOW. ATLANTA PWEASE  ;D

Why is everyone so silent about Sprinsteen ripping off New Order's Love Vigilantes?  The similarities are too obvious to ignore and too close to be coincidental.

Cheers,

J

Maybe because we don't actually know who that is?

Besides, here and there music will sound like other music. It just happens.

There is a similarity in the main riff but the songs themselves are not even close. This isn't like Coldplay & Joe Satriani which was a blatant rip off.

Ghost Of Tom Joad is an amazing album
