The interview was much too short.  I wish Bono would have been on there longer and discussed more in length how the meds are getting through, and helping those in Africa.  We know of course what the One Campaign does but a person who is not familar would not.  Back questions.......too much info.

Yes it was too short, but he did get his message across. But there should have been more details about what's happening and what's being done.

And exactly where he will be tomorrow!  ;)

Seriously, do you think that he will get to do that on GMA or Ellen tomorrow? What about the event today, or was it yesterday, with Alicia Keys? Do we have youtube sighting of that yet? Was it covered by the "real" press - whatever that is these days!

Here is a youtube video of the event with Alicia Keys - http://youtu.be/ROInbXIboqo - courtesy of the AP.

He should have more time to talk about it on Ellen and GMT, especially on Ellen. Jon Stewart's demographics are different then Ellen and GMT, so maybe they thought the attention span might be shorter.  ;D  I mean, I watch Jon because he gives me all the news of the day in a short period of time instead of me being annoyed and bored out of my mind watching a lot of those news shows.

Satellite TV - Comedy Central broadcasts on the EST schedule so I can watch it at the same time as the East Coasters!

Operation Meet Bono failed, but it was still a great day.

I got there around 2, got my ticket 45 minutes later when they started handing them out, and then I scouted out the building until I came across a small handful of U2 fans waiting by a side entrance.  I waited there, chit chatting with some of them, from 3 until about 4:40 when I had to go in for the taping, and nothing.  I don't know what time he ended up entering or if he ended up using that side door.  There were only 16 people (including three or more ebay-ers) there on the sidewalk, so I hope everyone there was able to meet him.

But Bono was great and he was absolutely gorgeous.  I was sitting in the section that's kind of off to the side of Stewart's desk, but it was the closest to where Bono walked on stage.  When he walked off stage after the interview, I pointed at him, waved, and made my U2 shirt pretty visible and I got a smile, a point and a wave back!  It might not have been directed at me, but I feel like it was so lets go with that  ;D

About Jon Stewart, he did a Q&A segment before the taping.  I asked him how the show was able to get Bono as a guest after years of trying.  He jokingly responded that he didn't even know that the show was trying to book Bono and then talked about the lady who does the booking.  And when Jon said "we've been trying to get him on the show for years now" in the monologue, he was talking about/mocking my question a few minutes earlier and thats why the whole crowd laughed and Stewart stopped talking  ;D

And after the taping, Stewart pointed me out again and asked if the shirt I was wearing was a U2 shirt, and then he asked if I enjoyed him being on the show.  So I got to talk to Jon Stewart more than anyone!

Also, Bono talked for about 30 seconds about the wonders George W. Bush did in Africa, and that was unfortunately edited out of the interview.

I didn't get to meet him, but it was a great day nonetheless

Fantastic! Way to go U2 O&P!! 12 feet! Dang! You done good!!!!!!

Northstar, I'm w/ YOU!! Freak - even if a silent one!

I heard/saw Bono talk about Bush, but not in detail. They did keep in the part about the Clintons, but Bono wrapped that in another praise of Bush. Well done, Bono. Give credit where it's due no matter. Of course, that would be edited out. Grrr....

I got home after the show started, so I didn't get to see Jon's opening. I'll have to check Youtube once it's hopefully posted there.  ;)

Oh, and our friend's name at St. John's is Dominic B and his friend is Patrick B.  :)

I'm wondering where he'll be tomorrow as well. One of the many groups I'm signed up for on facebook -U2NT (or something like that) just posted saying Bono was in LA to tape Ellen...then they followed it up with a post saying it was taped on Monday. So if they are correct -?- he has already been in LA and left. DARN IT! It is closer to me to go to LA...if only I knew...but it's odd that I haven't heard anyone posting about seeing him in LA/or being at a taping. so I'm confused. hmmmm.

One gal did post a picture on fb of a setlist that Bono signed for her outside Jon Stewart..so it sounds like he at least stopped-not many other details to see if it was very short or not. boo. I guess I have to wait until the next tour or album and hope it won't be years and years away. :(
