In the past week I picked up Jack White, Norah Jones (I love this album), Billy Bragg and Wilco (box set), and Il Buono, Il Cattivo, Il Brutto (The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly) soundtrack.  I haven't given the last two a listen, yet; But, as an earlier poster stated, the Jack White album isn't some breakthrough piece, but it is good.  The Norah Jones album is very subtle, moody, and I just love her voice.  There is something about a great female vocalist that just calls to me.

Jack White's a talented guy but he needs to change the record. All this retro blues stuff is getting a bit boring now.

I really liked the Dead Weather though

Not me but...
My student just texted me that she found this "really weird" U2 CD at a thrift store.  Upon further investigation (including her telling me she'd never heard of any of the songs), we figured out that it was Zooropa. 

She bought it because it was $1 and because she likes the first 3 songs on The Joshua Tree (and she thinks Adam is quite yummy in the Streets video).  I didn't want to tell her that this one's quite different from JT, but I'm curious what "reviews" she'll come in with after giving Zooropa a listen.   ;)
