AL East
1. Tampa Bay. because all we do is win  8) WS CHAMPS
2. Boston Red Sox
3. New York Yankees. oh PLEASE let this be true
4. Toronto Blue Jays
5. B-more

NL West
1. Giants
2. Diamondbacks
3. Dodgers
4. Padres
5. Rockies/Cartmans

NL Wildcard
1. Phillies
2. Braves
3. Reds

The Yankees finishing third, considering we won 97 games last year and upgraded our pitching staff greatly, is insanity  :P

But why don't you have Arizona back in the playoffs?

Boston won't be in the playoffs this year, unless they actually play like a team.

I'm curious onto how Kuroda and Pineda will do in the AL East. Remember, Kuroda (who seemingly is a great pitcher) has been playing in the weak hitting NL West, and Pineda was in the AL West. I wouldn't be surprised to see Kuroda's era reach 4.00 for a little while in his only year with us.

I feel like Kiroda has the skill set to succeed in the AL East, maybe a little more than Pineda.  Kiroda has a solid assortment of breaking stuff and a nice changeup, and he's a ground ball pitcher.  His home run totals were slightly elevated last season, but he's still a ground ball guy.  Ground ball guys like Mike Mussina and Freddy Garcia just last year have always found some success in the AL East.

Pineda, on the other hand, is a power pitcher, who can be hit or miss in our division.  Thankfully, he's been working all off season in developing his changeup and his slider.  Early reports out of camp are that his new changeup grip that he and Rothschild have been working with is having some really positive effects.  We'll see if he can take the pressure though.  It should be an interesting year.

Even if Kuroda's ERA approaches 4, I'll be happy.  A near 4 ERA won Ivan Nova 16 games last year.  It's better than A.J Burnett's 5+ ERA anyway

I can agree with you on both of those fronts.

Especially Burnett. Wonder if he'll be any better on a team like the Pirates?

How can you be a Patriot fan and a Yankee fan? You are quite obviously one of those fans who only follow teams that win, no loyalty etc.

Jumping right to conclusions, are we?  :)

Born and raised in a Yankees household.

My dad was/is the BIGGEST Brett Favre fan of all time, so sitting down with him watching Super Bowl 33 (Patriots vs. Packers) as a little kid, I rooted for the other team.  My dad told me Brett Favre's team was gonna win, so I rooted for the other team, as many little kids do.  I stuck with New England ever since.  I remember basically crying when Drew Bledsoe got hurt in 2001, as he was my favorite player.  So yeah, you're wrong  :)

I also heard news from the Mariners camp that Eric Wedge is planning to bat Ichiro third in the order? Could that mean Ichrio finally tapping into the power he's had in his swing all this time?

That move is about 7 years too late.  Ichiro REALLY declined last year, and there's no reason to believe that at age 38, he'll return to his past glory.

Eric Wedge is insane.  Insane because he's going to bat Chone Figgins leadoff.  Chone Figgins hit .188 last year.

They don't have the depth in the team really to do much moving of the order.

And Figgins shouldn't even be in the starting lineup, let alone leadoff.

Ichiro could hit .300 again. His BABIP was .295 last year, lowest of his career, and .60 lower than his career average. And the fact that he still can run means his speed is there for him to beat out hits again.

If anything, hitting in front of Jesus Montero should help Ichiro see more strikes and more pitches to hit.  I can't see him hitting more than .305 though, I just think his time is starting to fade.

Figgins sucks.  Flat out sucks.

If you ever watched Ichiro hit during a batting practice, he has power in his swing, he just chooses not to use it.

I see him hitting maybe around .300 to .310 and having a 20-20 season. I would give him more steals, but if he's batting third most likely he won't reach 40 again.

Watching Ichiro destroy Yankee Stadium in batting practice was always incredible to see

When does his contract expire?

Let's sign him for just a year!

YOU BETTER NOT!

That's up for him to decide.

Whether or not he wants to try for a ring before he retires, because he has little chance of doing that with Seattle. No offence to you guys, but your in a division with two powerhouses on top.

I think they underpaid.  The bought the team, the stadium, and the surrounding land I believe.

AWESOME move by Magic Johnson, being part of the group that bought the Dodgers.

Why is this so funny to you?

because the Dallas Cowboys - by far the most valuable North American sports franchise - aren't worth $2 billion. The idea that the Dodgers along with all the property are even worth half that is preposterous. I've read that the new owners' group plans to use the Dodgers as the linchpin for putting together a regional sports cable network, but it's going to take them eons to make the $$$ back even if they're successful.

Yankees have a net worth of $1.6 B

It didn't mention a bigger number than that for the Cowboys.
