U2:3D release?
briscoetheque:
3d tv is a fad
BringCitrus:
Right. It's definitely a fad. It comes and goes every decade. That's why it needs to get released now before it goes out again.

If U23D was released today, it would be a niche market - probably wouldn't sell that many copies.
I think 3D will become more common over time. 3D technology in TVs doesn't add significantly to the price (at least on the manufacturing side) and filmmakers are increasingly using the 3D format. Even 3D TVs that don't require glasses are on the horizon. The industry just needs to offer 3D rentals and lower the prices on 3D releases to spur growth.

You're right. There are 182 listed here - although many of them are special releases not hollywood movies.

Starman:
I think in releasing it, the studio (whoever owns this thing) wouldn't have to worry about lack of sales. 3D Blu-Rays don't sell as much anyways and many of them are nature documentaries made for IMAX and such, so they don't sell many copies anyways.
For some reason I thought there were more 3D Blu Rays in the US and Canada than 182 (though I shouldn't be surprised)
