would the Irish Independent be considered a rag for posting a rags article?

They get all their inside info from The Sun's showbiz desk.

They have a Political desk on which they keep a bucket freshly topped up with sh*t, with which to pour over politicians the next day.

My 17-year-old daughter just said she thinks it'd be good if U2 worked with somebody who writes for One Direction, so maybe it's a good idea.  She likes U2 but is made fun of for it.

Can't be any worse than Rick Rubin

Also I'll believe it when it's officially confirmed

Sad to see u2 become followers, uncool and desperate

I want them to have absolutely nothing to do with todays popsh.t
In fact I want them to smash it to peaces
Their idea of being relevant is to narrowminded And restraining them
Please u2, be relevant by moving peoples hearts

From the Tweets, it seems Falk bumped into The Edge on a flight, and he is waiting to get some feedback from Bono about something. That is the sum of information we have at the moment. In all likelihood, it has nothing to do with the next U2 album.

too bad, 'cause the more I think about it, the more I'm intrigued by the possibilities.

I guess it all depends on how you interpret the words that were said. Are they just talking to him or are they actually working with him?

Falk told The Sun: “There’s a long way to go but we are doing something with U2″.

That could mean that the four of them are just talking to each other to see if they want to actually let him into their studio. Or it could mean that they handed him some recordings and asked him to go do something with them and report back. Or it could just be a dinner invite.

When Adam or Larry confirm it - I'll believe it. I'm not going to judge Carl Falk on his previous ventures, maybe the guy has the ability to make a rock album. We'll see.

will.I.am played keyboards on Magnificent. His contribution didn't result in Bono thrusting around moaning about his lumps.

If U2 goes for a bouncy, catchy sound, I don't think that would be the worst thing in the world. Look at the opening trio from Pop. Wonderfully catchy stuff with some meaty subject matter to all three. So long as U2 remained meaningful, also being catchy at the same time would just be icing.

will.i.am was also credited with mainstreaming crazy tonight, much to the annoyance of brian eno if i recall.
