Clear to you, not me!

Right now, Coldplay doesn't approach U2 for me, but come July I'll know more from firsthand research.

I guarantee your love experience with Coldplay will make you feel like a REAL woman - it did me. Shorty won't get a look in  :-* :-*

Hold up there. Coldplay have never played a stadium gig in North America though. I think it's one of the only countries they've never attempted stadiums in. I actually half-expected them to try it on the Mylo Xyloto Tour, but it would seem they haven't bothered one again.

That's because Coldplay choose to play arenas rather than stadiums. Not because (as you rightly point out) they couldn't play stadiums. This is because Coldplay like to offer their fans a more intimate, passionate love experience.

Why is it that this tour is focusing mostly on stadiums for the UK and Europe then?

Coldplay can play stadiums in the UK and in Europe but they cannot fill enough seats to be profitable in America. Lots of music that Europe has and is extrmemly popular over there we have beary heard of. Lots of artists that are not popular in the US aymore are still very popular oveseas.

Coldplay are as big in America as they are in the UK or elsewhere in Europe.  Unlike Take That or Robbie Williams, for example.

Guys, guys, please let's stop this. I thought we had an armistice yesterday.

Let's just face it: we are intractable on this.

There are those of us who think Coldplay can't do a proper stadium tour in the U.S. And then there are those who think they can.

Let's get back to discussing more positive topics like how Boots destroyed U2.  :P

Lol, I still don't think GOYB ruined U2. Maybe it hurt NLOTH's chances at being a commercial success, but U2, overall, are still doing quite well as a band--as evidenced by 360's success. What will ruin U2 is if they release a subpar CD next time around and/or their live performances begin to suffer.

U2's live performances have suffered ever since Lovetown.

And you're including Zoo TV in this assessment?
