Get on Your Boots may have ruined U2

@lmighty DS:
live it's good but not great. the bridge takes the song to another level but isn't enough to save it. lead single fail.

Great live song - as for the rest - artistic -v- numbers perhaps that's another thread? Or indeed have I seen that just the once or twice or three times before...?

Regardless of your opinion on it though, it's just ridiculous to compare it -being one of their most enduring singles both critically and commercially as well as a song that ensured the band weren't just lucky with the War album and made them a certified arena band - to Get on Your Boots.

I agree

Actually what am I talking about - Pride is a horrible song. But agreed it has enduring appeal. I doubt very much GOYB will ever be played again

I'm not as convinced - i think the band recognised GOYB took on a life of its own - get the place jumping. I'm pretty sure Adam says as much. With that in mind its always possible it may appear again..

Yea it's not dead. NLOTH, Breathe, UC, these songs are dead. GOYB, Mag, MOS are still gonna stick around, imo. But if post-360 tour U2 has taught me anything it's that long-thought-dead songs <Zooropa, Scarlett, HMTM> can ALWAYS! return
