I'll see them every tour until they call it quits. I'm actually considering multiple shows next time around.

Even if you don't care for the new Album?

Whatever the new album sounds like won't alter what Pride and I Will Follow sound like.

A band of U2s age generally doesn't use a new album as a way to attract fans and attention.

Really, were Bomb and NLOTH the main focal points which attracted the crowds? Or was it just the majority of casual fans and other people who like U2s music, but could care less about the new album as long as they heard Streets and Sunday Bloody Sunday.

Basically since Pop (or maybe ATYCLB) the album has has little to no impact on the tour itself. Other than calling it Vertigo Tour, how did it relate to Bomb other than stage design. And NLOTH and 360? Completely unrelated in all ways basically.

That being said, I would 100% still see them live, to get an opportunity to hear songs I always liked, and maybe some that the band haven't played in a long time, ALA TUF and UV.

I'll see 'em live again if they play arenas in the UK, regardless of what the new album sounds like.

And, of course, NLOTH was NOT a sub-standard album.  I would have loved to see them play 7 songs from that album in arenas last time around, but it was not to be.

this. you're correct again

NLOTH did not suck. I'm so TIRED of hearing that!

mom is always right

So relieved somebody thinks so!  ;)

I'm on board with the crowd that's talking about still seeing as many shows as possible.  If I can swing it financially, I'll use their tour as an excuse to visit new places.  ;D  Even if the new album doesn't do it for me, there's plenty of material to love from the rest of their work.

Agreed. I think we younger fans in particular will say the same thing, as we haven't been around to see the JT, Zoo, and Popmart tours. The band isn't getting any younger, and we want all the live U2 shows we can get!

Never seen them. So yeah I would see them regardless of the album. I won't be there for the new stuff though, unless it's up to the U2 standard, which the last three albums haven't been.

But it never changes, is what I'm saying. So regardless of whether U2's next album is amazing or crap, the hits will still sound exactly the same. So if it's hits you like and can't wait to hear IWF, NYD, or Pride again, the next tour should be just what the doctor ordered.

Yeah I wish they would spruce up some of the older hits, like how they change EBTTRT on 360.

Many of the warhorse songs have stayed exactly constant since Elevation.

I would see them live regardless of anything.  If they came out with a cover album of Katy Perry songs, I'd see them live

Well, the hits are played, but they really don't sound the same as they did 'cause Bono can't sing 'em like he used to.

Yeah, I don't mind it when they reinterpret old songs (like Bullet and Running on Zoo TV or Real Thing on 360), but when they trot out 20+ year-old versions of Pride or NYD, it's pure laziness.

Now if the crowd would take a potty-break during NYD instead of during No Line or Your Blue Room, we'd be seeing a different U2 altogether.

NLOTH did not suck. I'm so TIRED of hearing that!

I'll see multiple shows next time - hopefully, 2 early in the tour and 2 later in the tour, mid tour maybe too - depends where they are.

I agree. It wasn't received well by the public in terms of sales, but overall, the album is pretty good. And MOS is one of the best songs they've released in quite some time. The album was also well received by the critics and most fans. So NLOTH most definitely did not suck

I'm also hoping to catch at least a couple shows on the next tour, if not more depending on where they tour and how it's priced. I figure as long as they're still playing good shows, I'd like to see them as much as possible.

Thanks, Jab. Us moms need to stick together.  ;)

Potty breaks? Hold it people!!!

Before I die, I will hear New Year's Day live. Warhorse or not!

The problem here is that regardless of wether U2 thought NLOTH was sub standard, they turned 360 into a Greatest Hits Tour because U2 thought the public thought it was sub standard.

I'd go and see them again if they made a new record that was any good and actually toured that record, regardless of what the public thought. But I don't want to spend money on another Greatest Hits Tour.

If U2 had taken the same attitude with 360 that they did with POP, we would never have got any of those outstanding POPMART dates. I loved hearing Discotheque, Mofo, Velvet Dress, Miami, Gone, SATS, LNOE etc. Alas, they've gotten old and rather conservative these days. With POPMART the critical/public reaction was dubious but they pressed on and made it work. With NLOTH they just gave up.

I will always see them live. They play huge amounts of back catalogue and new songs often sound completely different live. It's the whole experience.
