Hi Guys,

I am really getting torn about U2. I have been a rabid fan for 25+ years and the last few years with them has been hard. I loved NLOTH, it was better then I expected but something still wasn't right. I loved the 2 360 shows I saw but something was still missing. I can't actually pinpoint what it is but something definitely is lacking. It's not me as I can listen to the JT and AB era and get the same feeling I have always gotten. ATYCLB and HTDAAB are 2 cds I never listen to and just can't make it through anymore.
I can honestly say unless the next CD is a killer I may not even see them live. I haven't missed a tour since The Unforgettable Fire.

the first oppurtunity i had to see them in concert was the Elevation tour. Saw it 3 times. HTDAAB was such a nut-punch that i skipped Vertigo. So i'd be willing to sit a show out.

I'll see them every tour until they call it quits. I'm actually considering multiple shows next time around.

If you see a show late enough in the tour the new album will probably barely be there anyway...

I don't think the new album will have much bearing on how many people go to see them. Did most people actually go to see them on 360 for NLOTH? I don't think so, because a lot of people I talked to were there to hear some of their older songs. If they keep a fair mix of new stuff and old stuff, people will be happy.

As for me, even if the new CD sucks (and I don't think they'll do that because of the emphasis they seem to be putting on making a better album than NLOTH) I'll still see them at least once, simply because I'm "making up for lost time." I was too young to see them during the 90s and also wasn't a fan at that point. Now that they've become one of my favorite bands, I want to see them as much as possible until their concerts decline to a point where the music is no longer good. And by that I mean they're no longer able to put on a good show musically.

Whatever the new album sounds like won't alter what Pride and I Will Follow sound like.

NLOTH did not suck. I'm so TIRED of hearing that!

I'll see multiple shows next time - hopefully, 2 early in the tour and 2 later in the tour, mid tour maybe too - depends where they are.

I'll see 'em live again if they play arenas in the UK, regardless of what the new album sounds like.

And, of course, NLOTH was NOT a sub-standard album.  I would have loved to see them play 7 songs from that album in arenas last time around, but it was not to be.

This is where I am. Stronger fan today than I was 10 years ago. I always want to hear how the new stuff comes out live. So sure, with 360 I wanted them to play most of the stuff off NLOTH. But by the time they made it my way they had dropped most of it.

I'm on board with the crowd that's talking about still seeing as many shows as possible.  If I can swing it financially, I'll use their tour as an excuse to visit new places.  ;D  Even if the new album doesn't do it for me, there's plenty of material to love from the rest of their work.
