Best U2 Vinyl?
vertigofly40:
After reading about record store day, I really like the idea of listening to and collecting vinyl records I want to start a vinyl record collection. Of course, I would like to start by picking up a couple vinyl records from my favorite band, U2. Which leads to my first question; What U2 albums sound best on vinyl? My second question is if there are any recommendations for a good turntable, speakers, etc…?
Thanks.

War.
First album I ever bought or owned back in 1983. Still have the exact same copy too, along with about 5 others.

I have B&W speakers (£200), a marantz amp (£900) and a Project record deck (£200). It all sounds great - not sure what your budget is though.
Vinyl always sounds better than cd so take your pic of U2 albums. Avoid NLOTH as its rubbish whatever medium you listen to it on. AB sounds particularly rich on vinyl. Plus with vinyl you get great artwork, inner sleeves etc and a side 1 and side 2 actually mean something!

Technics are your best bet for turntables and for me, The Joshua Tree on vinyl is absolutely unbeatable.

Thanks for the suggestions and advice. I am going to get both War and The Joshua Tree on vinyl to start.
