Paul Kedrosky is always full of good advice. His take for reference:

From the various financial articles, this whole thing is beginning to look like a disaster!

Several articles say that Bono's Facebook shares are worth an estimated $1.5 billion!  In case anyone is wondering, Mitt Romney is worth an estimated $230 million.  I just hope Bono pays his 'fair share.' :D

True.  The Elevation Partner website lists 10 partners, which includes Bono.  So without knowing if there are other unlisted partners, or what Bono's percentage of the cut is, it's still safe to assume he personally cleared a hefty sum of money.

I certainly don't have any problems with someone becoming (even more) fabulously wealthy from our free market system of capitalism, but I'm sure that fact makes many on this forum (especially those over in the Occupy thread) highly uncomfortable.

It's only a disaster if you were dumb enough to buy at $38.

Anyone here ever actually bought anything via an ad on facebook ?

One of the big 3 automakers, can't remember which, has already deemed advertising on facebook to be a waste of time and money, I'm sure they won't be the last.

There's been rumblings about the effectiveness of their ads in a lot of circles,  I wouldn't be surprise if this ws at $15 by year's end.

If i were a betting man I'd have shorted as much as I would have been legally allowed to.

And even worse for those who bought shares when they periodically jumped to $43 thinking it was going much higher.

But if he/they haven't sold it, it's worth what? Whatever someone pays for it when they do.  And, that number is diminishing as I type.

Did Elevation Partners sell their shares or hang on to them?
