I have three of their albums.

Pauls Boutique was probably my fave but Licensed to Ill was classic old school rap too.

I have Licensed, Paul's Boutique, and Check your Head. Stopped at that album(which was great too).
Don't know why I never bought Ill Comm as I loved Spike Jonze's video of Sabotage. But never did.

I'll have to check those out. Thanks for the recommend.

The thing that stands out to me about this is he didn't die at his own hand or in some accident.

I can't recall when the last person of his(and mine) generation lost someone is the music industry this way.

IllComm and CYH go together perfectly, it's almost like they are just disc 1 and 2 of a double album.

Yea thats true, most dont go naturally

Well I mean it just makes me feel old. Now even musicians of my generation are passing on from natural causes.
That was something happening to my grandparents and parents generation, not mine yet.

My fav BB album of all time. But like Desert Sjy said, IC and CYH are BB staples. And The Hot Sauce Committee Pt II is a necessity for any fan.

MCA was my favorite Beastie Boy. I had a HUGE crush on him for years. And then when he started going gray...... well.....most of you know I'm s ilver fox kind of girl  ;D

I'm very sad.

HSCp2 was a huge surprise. I was expecting it to be mediocre like TT5B was but it was stellar. I dont think they ever intended to tour it however, due to his cancer

Yeah I agree. It makes me feel old that a Beastie Boy has died. Such a great band and carried on making great innovative music for so many years. I remember all the VWs with their badges missing :*(
