I think you have to be careful with establishing that the results are really representitive of the U2 fanbase as a whole. I think its not far off, but you have to remember that online, your dealing with typically a younger group on average, and that older U2 fans may actually be underepresented in the poll. If you had done a scientific poll of those going to say the Baltimore 360 concert, I think you would see the age level increase over what is seen online.
But not to the degree you would have seen back in 2000 as everyone these days, at least in North America, is probably very connected to the internet, regardless of age, compared to the year 2000 or 1995.
