When Bruce Springsteen, Patti Smith, the Black Eyed Peas, and Mick Jagger joined U2 on stage at the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame Concert in 2009

You were there? I just watched the DVD of that show again the other night. I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For with Springsteen was epic.

Yes I was.  It was absolutely surreal.  Hearing U2 perform Gimme Shelter with Mick Jagger was just...wow.

Lucky You. I'm sure live it was one of those 'HOLY SH*T' moments, but the actual performance of the song for me was just good, but not great. Gimme Shelter is my fav Stones song and one of the best songs ever written. It is a dark and gritty song, but I don't think U2 played it right. They used an orchasta to back up the Edge but it just wasn't right for the song. Fergie actually did a pretty good job for the female singing part.

On the other hand I Still Haven't Found with Springsteen was perfect, especially the 3rd verse when Bono would sing the line and the Boss would repeat it. Also loved the piano that Roy Bittan brought to the song. One of the best versions of that song ever.

personally, I thought U2's best song at the Hof 25th was Stuck In A Moment.

I thought it was a bit off. Jagger clearly missed a few lines and I thought, even though Jagger sang on one of the recorded versions of it, they could have picked a better song for the duet. Something like Desire or Angel of Harlem would have been right up Jaggers alley.

The first one that comes to mind was Bruce Springsteen joining U2 in Philadelphia 1987 at JFK during the Joshua Tree tour.  They sang "Stand By Me" together.  That might be the only one.

I would have loved to have been there when Bono appeared on stage with Kylie Minogue in Australia a few years ago at one of her concerts.

I love that performance. I listened to the original Kids and think that Bono provides a better vocal in masculinity than Robbie Williams does. He and Kylie fit well together

I agree with you.  Jagger's voice and Bono's don't go well together on that tune.  Angel of Harlem would have been awesome!

I saw Bruce Springsteen bring Bon Jovi on stage in Dallas to help sing "Glory Days."  That was pretty cool.  Double shot of Jersey, I believe, is what he called it.
