Of course.

Anyone interested in why, read the book Inside Scientology. It's meticulously researched and well-written.

haha it wouldn't surprise me...

on another note, many of my friends have experienced scientology and scientology recruitment up close and i must say...the stories they relate are seriously horror stories...it really is a cult.  a brainwashing cult with an intense marketing department.

L Ron Hubbard said the quickest way to make a ton of cash is to start a religion, then he wrote Dianetics a year later lol, idiots.

or is it just a coincidence that all 3 of his marriages have ended once the wives turned 33?

He either doesn't like women over 33 or it is a weird coincedence.

Gee, Katie went into the marriage with no idea about Tom being a scientology nutbag. I mean, sure, the rest of the world knew, but she was marrying Maverick dammit!

Well, at least Kate wasn't forced to cover her face, or give up her career or her lifestyle.Suri certainly wasn't going to be married off to someone in a couple of years......oops, I'm thinking of the wrong cult  ::)

She probably initially thought the scientology thing was cool... I mean, you know, a young girl from Toledo (Ohio, where I live) with questions, doubts. I mean, really, it could happen to anyone. (Fortunately when I was questioning, I found Unitarian Universalism instead.)

I bet she was probably in love with that whole "Ohmygodhe'stomeffingcruiseandhelikesME!" thing at first.

I really liked Cruise as an actor. (Far & Away is one of my favorite movies. Not to mention all his 1980s hits... Top Gun... Cocktail.) It's disappointing to me that he turned out to be such a nutbag. I still go to his movies, but I cant say that watching his movies doesnt taint the way I look at him.

I see John Travolta movies now and then. At least he keeps his nutbaggedness a little quieter...

Tom's never really loved any woman as much as he loved Goose.
