U2 > The Music
Rarities Collection
Manos73:
U2 has released 3 best of records but never, to the general public, a rarities disc. I think this Christmas would be a great way to get some songs out of the vault and making money. It would also be a stop gap for the fans waiting on new material. And it wouldn't take too much effort.
Here are some recent songs they could put on the album.
NLOTH Outtakes
1.No Line On The Horizon (version 2) - B side
2.Winter (OST version) - only in Brothers movie
3.Soon - only ever released on vinyl and fan club download
4.Stand Up Comedy (fuller version from NLOTH sessions)
360 tour versions, studio re-records
1.IGCIIDGCT
2.Get On Your Boots
3.EBTTRT
Best of the remasters - new songs
1.Saturday Night (Boy box)
2.Angels Too Close To The Ground (War box)
3.Disapparing Act (UF box)
4.Wave of Sorrow (Birdland) (JT box)
5.Blow Your House Down (AB box)
New songs we've heard - only if not on new record
1.Return Of The Stingray Guitar
2.Boy Falls From The Sky (U2 version)
3.Glastonbury
4.Every Breaking Wave
5.Mercy
6.North Star
@lmighty DS:
yes, i can get behind this. this would be a great idea!
Johnny Feathers:
No. I can't imagine anyone being interested in this who doesn't already have the versions/songs that have been released elsewhere. You actually want them to repackage songs you've purchased into another disc? Yet another repackaging/stop gap is not what the band needs. They need an actual album.

nah, i'd be fine with studio versions of those last 6 songs
Johnny Feathers:
That's fine, but how many releases have they put out since NLOTH at this point? Remaster box sets, fanclub-only releases, Spider-Man soundtrack.....even as little as I like NLOTH, if they put out any more "stop-gap" releases, I'd say they may as well just declare themselves retired and the well dry and be done with it.
