It took me a while for me to figure that one out - the verse had me so confused because I thought he was saying dipped feet, then "are we ready to be swept off our feet"...

I was like, why does he keep saying feet?  Does he have a foot fetish or something?  I love EBW but the rhyme always makes me laugh.

i'm not sure if i posted this at any point but i've, for years, heard the WOWY lyric as "she got me whipped..." and not "she got me with..."

Hmmm...

Rejoice: "when I woke up to what he had said" -I always hear Bono singing, instead of "to what he had said" as "go f*** yourself."

This is the most hilarious thread! I wish I could remember some of mine. Somebody needs to get all these lyrics together and form the world's worst tribute band.  ;D

Maybe I've posted it earlier. But I just keep hearing 'f****** no!' over and over in Volcano

Then there are the lyrics that I wish that I misheard...

Hello there Boy/Girl... big time, blatant misogyny there fellas. Makes me cringe.

"We go out
A picture or a disco or a roundabout
I walk you home, I hold you there, you're giving out
I open doors so I can shut your face
Know your place "

On an Electrical Storm lyric video, I once saw a comment that remarked Bono sounded like he was singing "electric toaster."

Now I can't listen to that song without a horrible image of Ali Hewson sitting and crying on a couch, and Bono coming up with a toaster in his hands, presenting it to his wife, and singing softly:

Electric toaster
Electric toaste-er
Electric toaster
Baby don't cry!

Granted, this was a cover, but on Jesus Christ on the Woody Guthrie/Leadbelly tribute album, I always heard
"The late Jesus Christ is great" instead of "They laid Jesus Christ in the grave"
