Pinwheels - Smashing PumpkinsLive to Rise - SoundgardenYouth Without Youth - Metric45 - Gaslight AnthemColours - GrouploveAt the start of this year I was really starting to feel like alternative music was done for like so many had been saying for years.Between some of the bands I listed above and a bunch of others (Airborne Toxic Event, M83, Silversun Pickups, The Joy Formidable, etc) I'm finding I'm more excited for the future of music than I've been in years.

Don't forget Mutemath, Phillip Phillips, Metric, and XX Even though it was overplayed, I still love this song - http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=HoRkntoHkIE Yahoo did an acoustic version in an interview. Love it when it's just him and his guitar.

I have forgotten how much I liked the album and that song. I really like the combo of I'm Just a Man with Girl on Fire. Elegantly Wasted may not have been their best album, but I feel like it is their best sequenced and produced one.
