At the start of this year I was really starting to feel like alternative music was done for like so many had been saying for years.

Between some of the bands I listed above and a bunch of others (Airborne Toxic Event, M83, Silversun Pickups, The Joy Formidable, etc) I'm finding I'm more excited for the future of music than I've been in years.

I'm loving the new Metric album these days. I'll be honest I've somehow not heard a single Philip Philips song until just now but I liked what I just heard.

Yes... I have forgotten how much I liked the album and that song.  I really like the combo of I'm Just a Man with Girl on Fire.  Elegantly Wasted may not have been their best album, but I feel like it is their best sequenced and produced one.

Yes... I have forgotten how much I liked the album and that song.  I really like the combo of I'm Just a Man with Girl on Fire.  Elegantly Wasted may not have been their best album, but I feel like it is their best sequenced and produced one.

I love Elegantly Wasted; it's probably my third favorite INXS album of what I've heard.  I never considered it a very well-sequenced album, but I do love the first 6 songs in their order. That first half really sums up the themes of the album perfectly.
