waste of time and effort. If they need a U2 member that bad, let Larry do it. They need a smackdown artist, not another kiss-up.

Noooooooooooooo. Bono has enough side projects. And he's still popular enough in his original career that he doesn't need to do this.

Edited to add: I also saw a headline indicating Charlie Sheen said he'd do it. Now that I'd watch.

If Bono was a judge it would add another hour to the show.   :-\  Love to Bono, but bad idea.  Jimmy Iovine should do it.

I wouldn't give up on the band, but I think it'd be a bad idea. He has enough distractions outside of the band; he needs to focus on being in a band. Steven Tyler left American Idol, because he realized he was away from Aerosmith for too long. He gets it.

As long as he keeps up with the music and touring (far more important than some reality show), I have no issues with it. That having been said, I think it'd be a bad idea. American Idol does not have much credibility left (not that it ever really had any to begin with) and I can only see Bono joining AI hurting U2's reputation as a band. However, if Bono were to be a mentor or guest judge, that would be a far better option.

Same can be said if Jagger joins AI as a judge. Would only do damage to the RS reputation, imo.
