Best U2 Concert Entrance?
dwaltman:
I was watching the PopMart/Mexico City video yesterday and just kept thinking how cool the "boxer entering the ring" type entrance was really cool. Pop Muzik blaring, cutting through the crowd must have pumped them up before breaking into Mofo. The only thing that ruins it for me as maybe the best entrance is the oversized white jacket/hood that Bono was wearing. I can't be the only one who believes the pointed hood conjured up images of the KKK. I can't believe U2/Bono didn't think about it either. So for that reason, I think I would have to go back to ZooTV with the opening of Zoo Station and Bono rising up out of the stage up against the star logo and one foot kick balancing act. The Elevation tour brought the house lights up and the band casually walked on stage, accomplishing their goal of getting back to basics. The last few tours had openings that were less than memorable in my opinion. The 360 tour improved over time as the Bowie lead up into EBTTRT was pretty good. Thoughts?
Mercurial:
I really liked the ZooTv Sydney opening as well as the 360 Bowie/EBTTRT opening.
imaginary friend:
gotta go with Elevation.
@lmighty DS:
Zoo TV, no question about it.
xy:
Always liked the low key house lights intro on Elevation.
