Another U2 cover used in movie trailer

In the upcoming movie, "The Impossible", Damien Rice's cover of One is used in the trailer.  I don't understand why they keep using these stupid covers in trailers and will not just use U2.

he sings the 1st verse in the first person and i think it kills the song. does not make sense to me...
