Obama came out on stage tonight at the DNC to COBL. What do you think?

Personally, it gave me goosebumps just to hear those opening chords!

Effective use of the song for rallying the people to excited and emotional demonstrations.

Glad to hear that he's continuing on with COBL from the 2008 campaign

He also played We Take Care of Our Own by Springsteen at the end. Say what you want about him, but he picked a killer soundtrack.

My favourite band to enter, my second favourite to close; oh, and both agree with his politics and the latter song perfectly sums up his message.

Love it.

^ This.

I was wondering if he'd continue to use COBL and was so happy to hear it tonight. Great song. Maybe we'll see U2 at the President's inauguration bash in January.

I actually got more goosebumps from Fleetwood Mac and Bill Clinton last night.  That brought back some old musical memories!

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them there!

^ I know Bruce will definitely be there. He's a huge supporter of the President. I'm about 70% sure U2 will be as well...or at the very least Bono and Edge.

y'allz are optimistic  ;D

It was too much to hope that U2 would be there (they are wise about using their political clout, after all), and I think they are too big, so we get the foo fighters performing live instead

We're not talking about the DNC, we're talking about President Obama's eventual celebration bash in January. I never expected U2 to be there tonight.

They were at President Obama's inauguration back in 2009, though. Unless something's drastically changed, I'm betting some/all of them are still fans of Obama, which makes an appearance in January 2013 at the White House somewhat likely.

She sang One at the DNC? Glad I missed that.
