Best live version of Bad?
« on: September 06, 2012, 11:23:34 PM »
I thought Ive seen all the Bad live performance available on youtube.  But than I discovered this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_D6y9yYiJyI&feature=related

This is absolute vintage Bono, pure raw power.  Could very well be the best performance of Bad.  And at 4:55 is simply unreal.

And I like the 360 Pittsburgh version as well. Shows that Bono can still do it when he wants to.

No!  Definitely not!  That 2000 recording of Bad (sponsored by some radio station in NYC, small venue, pre-ATYCLB release) you guys helped me identify a few months ago is pretty lame. The audience is loudly and happily singing along, so when Bono (who is vocally thin in the performance) botches the lyrics, they fall suddenly silent.

But don't get me wrong.  I love me some Bad 99.98% of the time.

Bono's vocals were beauteous this night. He's doing different things w/ them and Edge's effects are experimental too. And AIWIY and the Beatles' snippets always make me smile.  :)
Apparently, Rotterdam is special.

I wish!
I'm from the Netherlands, the 360 shows I saw were Amsterdam, Brussels and Frankfurt.
I'm a bit jealous of you, you saw, The Fly, EBTTRT, Zooropa and Bad in one show. We got Stingray Guitar and Glastonbury..

I'd have loved to have seen your shows too! My next goal is to see them in Europe, preferably Ireland.

Bad was in Pittsburgh and Zooropa was in Baltimore. The other two songs were in both. We heard no Stingray Guitar or Glastonbury.  Did you not hear The Fly?

Nope, The Fly was only performed during the last leg (North America) of the tour.
Didn't you hear Zooropa in Pittsburgh? The setlist on U2gigs.com has Zooropa on it.

Ooops! Apparently, I heard it in both, but since the Baltimore track of Zooropa is now on U22, I forgot about Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh = Bad for me.  ;)
