What happens to U2 stages after the tour ends?

Anyone know what happened to the claw? Or anything from any tour? Wheres the lemon!?

Chris Martin buys the stages and all the bits and bobs.....sets them up in his garden and prances about on the stages and pretends to be in U2

Well, for most of those stages, the risers, trusses, et al, just become part of some other band's stage. I seem to remember the lemon(s?) being stored in a warehouse somewhere, but most bands never own their stages outright. Prince's Purple Rain stage, for example, became Motley Crue's Dr. Feelgood stage (with different props/decor, obviously) a few years later. Metallica is about the only exception I can think of. They bought their stadium stage in 1992, and just update the video, sound and lights. They also just bought a new arena stage to replace the one they'd been using since 1998.

The stage (minus the ellipse) used for the arena shows on the Vertigo Tour wound up being bought by The Police for use on the arena shows on their reunion tour.
