Well, if the Ravens can work out the finances and keep Reed, Williams, Ellerbe, and Kruger, maybe it will be a Green Bay vs. Ravens super bowl where both teams are used to the cold.  ;) Harbaugh said this am that he wants Reed to stay. Ellerbe and Kruger want to remain Ravens and we here definitely agree! Haven't heard about Williams yet...

Don't forget, Flacco gets to renegotiate this year and he is not going to come cheap.

The Ravens are only $12 million under the salary cap going into next season and Flacco wants $20 million per year. Even if he signs for $17 -$18 million per year they are going to have to let some players go and won't have the money to re-sign some of their own free agents. I've read that the WR A.Boldin who was huge for them in the playoffs could be cut and that key Defensive players like Kruger, Reed, and Williams may not be resigned. Ravens may find repeating for the SB tough if they lose a lot of that talent.

Well how much to they gain by Ray Lewis retiring?

Well, for one thing, they'll have a team without any murderers. So there's that.

I was wondering that too - if that $12 million figure is already taking his retirement into consideration. I hope not as that would mean more $ for the rest of the team next year.

Lewis makes about $6 million or so, but they will need about $5 million to pay their draft picks this year, so Lewis retiring isn't gonna make much difference.

For you Ravens fans here a couple of articles about the Ravens cap situation and players they will likely let walk. I was wrong earlier when I said that they had $12 million in cap room, according to ESPN they are now $5 million OVER the cap, and with Flacco's new contract it will likely push it to be over by more then $20 million! Looks like they are gonna lose a lot of players from their Super Bowl team.

Clearly, as suggested elsewhere, they should have Coldplay.

Bruce Springsteen said a few years ago that Coldplay is the best choice

well, the NFL is denying the no-halftime-show rumors, for whatever that's worth.

The NFL Today show just said it should be Coldplay for obvious reasons - New York in the winter... ;)
